Our work together

What we’ll do and how we’ll do it

Initial consultation

When you’ve called or sent an email enquiry, we’ll arrange a time for a brief phone call to set up an initial consultation, either online or in person out of premises I share with colleagues still in training in either Montpelier or Orchard Street.

This safe space is held for you and what’s discussed is governed by our confidentiality policy.

During this initial consultation, we’ll begin creating a working relationship by talking about what brings you to therapy and confirming what day and time we’ll meet each week.

During sessions

Everything is up for discussion. Whether that’s challenging family relationships or the intergenerational trauma of systemic oppression, there is no conversation we cannot have. Counselling and psychotherapy lends itself well to people who recognise that they want to change they way they show up in life and the work of a psychotherapist is to help you do just that.

Sometimes what we want to talk about is too painful to approach directly, so when working in-person, there are colouring pens and pencils, coloured clay and stones and shells that are available to help communicate things we might find challenging to say.

Together we’ll be curious and supportive of your experience, become aware of some of the repeating patterns of relating that no longer serve your growth and wellbeing and slowly, gently, life will start feeling warmer and brighter.

Working online

There is a growing body of evidence that psychotherapy delivered online is highly effective and this is something I am very happy to offer should it suit you better.

Working online can be particularly beneficial for clients with sensory conditions as it means that you have more control over the space you are in.

Online psychotherapy is also useful for those who live further afield, who have low mobility or who travel for work.

Rest assured that we can still create a safe space together online, that eveything we discuss is subject to my confidentiality policy and that excellent outcomes can be achieved.
